Dr Oscar Shimange (MBChB (Natal), DTM & H, DPH, DOH (Wits), Dip for Med (SA), AMP (MBS), FCOG (SA), MBA (UFS)) is a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist. He is member of several professional organisations, including: The South African Medical Association, South African Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, South African Menopause Society (SAMS), the South African Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (SASUOG), the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG), North American Menopause society, International Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (ISGE), the Southern African Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (SASGE), and the International Menopause Society (IMS).
Dr Shimange is a practising specialist and completed an MBA.
He currently serves on the following organisations: council member of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa, former board member of the Medical and Dental Board of the HPCSA, former board member of Curamed Holdings, a subsidiary of Medi-Clinic. He completed a board leadership programme and finance for non-financial managers with the Gordon Institute of Business Science. |
Bert von Wielligh has a BComm Accounting and an MBA, both degrees from the University of Pretoria. His career includes hospital and operations management for the Medforum Hospital, Curamed and Medi-Clinic groups. He was the MD for the Curamed Group (Medforum General and Heart Hospital, Pretoria Heart Hospital, Muelmed, Astrid, Pretoria Gynaecological Hospital, and Kloof Hospital) and instrumental in Medi-Clinic acquiring shareholding of Curamed. He also served as Operational Director for Medi-Clinic’s Tshwane Region.
He is now the MD for the Cure Day Clinics Holdings and plans to grow the group to a national footprint. Bert’s experience includes involvement with the National Hospital Network (NHN) and the Hospital Association of South Africa (HASA). |

Dr AndrÉ Roux
Dr André Roux, MB BCh (Wits), DA(SA), FFA(SA), FANZCA is a specialist anaesthesiologist and director of the Pretoria-based Brink Anaesthetists. He previously worked in Johannesburg and Australia and is a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, as well as a member of the college’s Anaesthetists in Management special interest group. He is also a member of the South African Society of Anaesthetists’ Private Practice Business Unit and Chairman of the Acacia Branch of the South African Society of Anaesthetists.
He has completed the Management Advancement Programme at Wits Business School and is a director of Precision Medical Solutions, a medical practice management firm with a national footprint, as well as various other companies and has a long involvement with medical finances and day clinic management. He is one of the founders of the Cure Day Clinics Group.
Dr Roux initiated and manages the Cure Day Clinics Annual Community Project. |
Mr Vusi Mahlangu
Vusi is a founder and director of Tamela Holdings (Pty) Ltd, a black owned investment company and has more than 12 years’ experience in investment banking. Together with Rand Merchant Bank, he pioneered mezzanine funds in South Africa. They established Makalani in 2005 as the first specialised mezzanine fund, raised R2.5 billion and listed it on the JSE. Vusi was the Chief Executive Officer of Makalani from 2005 to 2008.
Prior to Makalani, Vusi spent about seven years in the structured finance division of Investec. In 2001, he started the Public Sector Finance Division at Investec that finances state owned companies and municipalities.
He is a director of FLS Roymec (Pty) Ltd and Emira Property Fund, a member of the Institute of Directors of Southern Africa and the Investment Analysts Society of South Africa and is a trustee of the Hamlet Foundation.
Vusi has a BSc in Chemical Engineering (Honours) from the University of Cape Town and an MBA from Harvard Business School. |

Dr Paul Leuschner
Dr Paul Leuschner has a MBChB, MMed (L et O) and is an Ear, Nose & Throat Surgeon and graduate of the University of Pretoria. He is currently in private practice. |
Mr Jannie Prinsloo
Mr Jannie Prinsloo qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1976. He was director and equity partner at PriceWaterhouseCooper (PWC) (SA).
Jannie has managed a significant audit practice of prestigious clients, including leading companies in the healthcare industry, University of Pretoria, Monash University, retirement funds and the South African National Parks Board. |

A tribute to Dr Bert von Wielligh
Bert snr (M.B.CHB (Cape) M.MED (Pretoria) F.F.A (SA)) is a retired anaesthetist. His years of experience in establishing and management of multi-disciplinary high-tech hospitals started with day clinics in the Robert Koch and Louis Pasteur buildings in Pretoria. As the managing partner, he established with his partners the Medforum Hospital, a multi-disciplinary hospital, in 1983. He retired in 1998 as an anaesthetist.
He remained chairman of the Medforum group until the merger and establishment of the Curamed group. After the acquisition by Medi-Clinic in 2002, he remained non-executive director of Curamed until 2004, whereafter he resigned.
Dr Von Wielligh was the first chairman of the Cure Day Clinics-Holdings group and one of the founding members. Dr Von Wielligh passed away in June 2011. His enthusiasm, business knowledge and energy for excellence will be missed. |
